INVITATION

 The Organizing Committee of ICSEM9 thanks you for your interest in ICSEM9 to be held in Tanabe City, Wakayama, Japan from 18 August to 23 August 2017.
 Tanabe City, Wakayama Pref. is located some 80 km away from Kansai International Airport, and accessible in about 2-3 hour by a train. It is located near the Kumano Kodo, ancient pilgrimage region registered as a World Heritage Site, and is a home town of Kumagusu Minakata() who is well known for his research on Myxomycetes. We are sincerely looking forward to seeing you at the ICSEM9, in Japan!
 The main venue for the meeting will be "TANABERU" located in the walking distance from Kii-Tanabe Station, Tanabe City. Other venues for the Reception (MINAKATA KUMAGUSU ARCHIVES) and Opening Ceremony (KINAN CULTURAL HALL) are quite close. Accommodation facilities are close to the venues, too.

ICSEM-9 will offer seven sessions:

 4. Phylogeny, Genomics & Bioinformatics
 5. Biodiversity, Resources, Environment & Conservation
 6. Dictyostelids, Protostelids & other Protists
 7. Education, Arts & others


 The official conference language is English. We still welcome proposals for sessions on other specific topics of interest.
 Participants can make oral and/or poster presentations. A projector will be available for oral presentations prepared in Microsoft PowerPoint. We will prepare Windows and Mac laptops, but you can use your own PC if you like.
 Photography on the oral presentation slides is prohibited in the session rooms.
 The posters should be approximately 80 cm wide x 170 cm long. The title, authors and affiliations must be cited at the top of the poster.
 Printed abstracts will be included in the congress materials handed out at the time of registration at the venue.

 Summer in Tanabe city is very hot (over 30C in daytime) with strong sunlight, and very humid. When you are in Tanabe, please prepare to avoid UV from the sunlight. Also we advise you to have water with you to avoid heat attack.
